Floreana Island is one of four inhabited islands in the Galapagos archipelago. It was first inhabited over 300 years ago, and as a result, its ecosystem is one of the most degraded. Washington Tapia, the director of conservation for the Galapagos National Park is leading the cause to bring Floreana Island back to grandeur. While major inroads have been made, there is still much work to be done.
